It's true! Brandon is officially potty trained! And in only 5 days. He has done so well and I can't believe how quickly he caught on. There have been plenty of accidents but he and I have both learned so much. And this new independence for him has done so much for our relationship. We really haven't been the best of friends lately and I wish I had done this sooner.
He has been showing signs of readiness for a while actually but every time I asked him about potty stuff he would say, "NO!" and run off. So I never pushed it. But he'll be 4 this year and it seemed like he needed a little bit of a push.
My fabulous brother Curt and my mom sent me Azrin and Foxx's book Toilet Training in Less Than a Day. Mom used it and Curt is a pro at this stuff and they have been the best to coach me along, offer advice, and listen to my frustrations. I couldn't have done it with out you all!
On Monday I just wanted to see how Brandon would respond to Azrin and Foxx's first step to potty training by role playing with a doll. I found his favorite stuffed animal (Monkey) and filled a squirt bottle with yellow water. And apparently this was a huge hit and he loved it! So we kept going and the rest is history.
For Brandon I learned that Pull Ups weren't right for him. He was just too comfortable with that wet feeling so I made him wear big boy undies and after several accidents he magically caught on and for the most part informed me that he needed to go potty.
Today is day #5 and he now wants to be left alone in the bathroom. He's earned lots of stickers and treats and is about to get enough stickers to go buy a new toy at the store. I'm so proud of him!

We are still working on pooping in the potty by helping Monkey poop in the potty...with raisins :)
